Author Anna Quindlen said: “The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of my three children sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”(Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).
Wow--that just makes me want to bawl!! I heard that in a Relief Society lesson on Sunday (where I DID cry) and then saw it again on a friend's blog today. It sounds like something that could have been written by ME--except it wouldn't have sounded so good.

I totally agree. Thank goodness for blogs now a days. I love to have somewhere to post pictures and thoughts besides my journal. Also, I love to get ideas on what activities I can do by looking at other people's blogs. I also think being in Primary helps too. I'm always thinking of kids lately!
I just re-read what I wrote..haha...I didn't mean I agree that you could have wrote it. I just meant, I agree it's easy for us Mom's to get caught up in schedules and cleaning etc. I'm sure you were and ARE a great Mom Nancy. Your kids are a testament to that :)
